World Environment Day: Our Commitment

Today, June 5, is World Environment Day, a crucial event promoted by the United Nations to raise public awareness of the importance of environmental protection. Established in 1972, this day celebrates the first UN conference on the human environment, held in Stockholm. Each year, a different country hosts the celebrations and a specific theme is placed at the center of global attention. For 2025, the focus is on the fight against plastic pollution with the #BeatPlasticPollution campaign. A theme of extraordinary urgency, given that plastic, and in particular microplastics, have now invaded every corner of our planet, from the depths of the oceans to the air we breathe, and even found in our bodies.

As Moretto Brakes Components, we are convinced that innovation must go hand in hand with environmental responsibility. Our commitment to a more sustainable future is not just a declaration of intent, but is embodied in daily actions that permeate every aspect of our production activity.

One of our milestones in terms of sustainability is the adoption of 100% energy from renewable sources. This choice not only makes us energy independent, but actively contributes to the reduction of carbon emissions, a fundamental step in the fight against climate change and, indirectly, the pressure that industry puts on the environment in general, including the production of plastic.

At the same time, we attach strategic importance to waste management. We implement a meticulous management system that aims to minimize the production of waste and maximize the recycling and reuse of materials. This approach is part of the logic of the circular economy, where every resource is valued and the concept of “waste” is progressively overcome. This also includes paying particular attention to our processes to reduce the consumption and waste of plastic materials, where present, and to manage them responsibly.

We are proud to contribute, with our leadership in the automotive sector, to a future where industry and sustainability can coexist and thrive. We believe that, through constant commitment and responsible choices, it is possible to build a greener and more resilient tomorrow, in particular by addressing the crucial challenge of plastic pollution.
